We're in the full swing of the new year now and moving along with improvements around town. Some items to be aware of:

  • Lane Closures - Sewer line repairs: 
    • Sewer line repairs at Orlando Ave & 4th S Street should be completed this weekend.
    • Repairs will then move to Orlando Ave & 2nd S Street will begin Monday, January 12 with lane closures.
  • Holiday Lane Ramp is closed for much needed repairs until further notice.

Playoff season is here, and there’s no better way to start the new year than by celebrating a true team MVP!

With a sports jersey–themed celebration, we’re proud to recognize our 2025 Employee of the Year, Scott Green.

When our superintendent departed in June, Scott immediately stepped up to keep operations running smoothly. For eight weeks, he served as interim superintendent - working long hours, leading staff, coordinating vendors, and ensuring everything stayed on track. His dedication, leadership, and positive attitude did not go unnoticed, with many customers sharing positive feedback during this time.

Thank you, Scott, for your hard work, leadership, and commitment to excellence - and congratulations on being our MVP!

Fire Safety Reminder: Time for a Home Reset

With recent events, our Fire Department would like to remind residents that now is a great time to do a quick home safety reset.

Check Your Smoke Alarms

  •  Make sure all smoke alarms are working properly. If not, it’s time to replace them. 
  • Remember to have smoke alarms near every bedroom and on each level of your home. 
  • Also, ensure windows and exits are clear of coverings or items that could slow evacuation.

Review Your Evacuation Plan
In an emergency, stress can make it difficult to think clearly. Having a plan in place ahead of time helps keep everyone safe.

  • Be sure everyone in your household knows the plan.
  • Choose a designated meeting place, such as a mailbox or another safe landmark.

Inspect Your Fire Extinguishers

Fire extinguishers do expire. Take a moment to confirm yours is operational, properly charged, and easily accessible.

A few minutes today can make a big different tomorrow. Stay safe, neighbor!
Pickleball clinics

If getting more active, adding a new hobby, or making new friends is on your to-do list this year, pickleball is your answer! And you're in luck, we have monthly clinics to learn alongside others.

Located at the Cocoa Beach Recreation Center at 321 Ramp Road. There are still plenty of spots for the Intermediate / Semi-Advanced  Clinic on January 22, 2026 from Noon to 2 PM. Register Today

Coffee with the City Manager

Coffee with the City Manager for the month of January has been cancelled. 
The next scheduled Coffee with the City Manager will be February 10th, 2026 from 9 to 10 AM at the Cocoa Beach Country Club.

Before the movie rolls, enjoy a Car Show starting at 5:30 PM, perfect for car lovers big and small.

Bring your blankets, chairs, and your crew for a cozy night under the stars!

Important Traffic Note: 

Minutemen Causeway between Orlando Ave and Brevard Avenue will be closed during the car show. Please plan your arrival and parking accordingly.
