4th of July Safety Reminder 🇺🇸

As we gear up for a week of stars, stripes, and celebration, the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office reminds us to keep safety front and center—both for ourselves and our furry family members.
If you’re enjoying fireworks this year:
  • Consider attending a local public fireworks display handled by licensed professionals—these shows are not only spectacular, they’re also safer.
If you choose to use legal, at-home fireworks, please take extra precautions: keep a water source nearby, never relight a dud, and always supervise children closely.
  • Only use fireworks outdoors in a clear area away from homes, dry grass, and flammable materials.
For our four-legged friends:
  • Fireworks can cause intense anxiety in pets. Keep them indoors in a quiet, safe space with familiar sounds like soft music or the TV.
  • Make sure your pets have ID tags and microchips up to date in case they get startled and run.
  • Avoid bringing pets to fireworks displays—what’s dazzling to us can be distressing to them.
Let’s make this week memorable for the right reasons: joy, connection, and safety for all.
Wishing everyone a safe and festive Fourth of July!
