Annual Sea Oat Planting

Join us for the annual sea oat planting at 3rd Street South. Sea oats and other dune vegetation, such as sea grapes, help to strengthen the dune system making Cocoa Beach more resilient to the impacts of storms and provide areas for native wildlife to thrive.

Date: Saturday, February 15th
Time: 9am until all plants have been planted
Location: 3rd Street South Beach Access

Volunteers should meet at the 3rd Street South Beach Access at 9am to receive instructions and sea oat planting tutorial from the site captain.

All planting tools and materials will be provided, but volunteers may bring their own shovel, post hole digger, trowel, etc. if they wish. Beach clean up supplies will also be provided. Please help us make this a zero waste event!

Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottle and coffee cup. Large jugs of coffee and water and light snacks will be provided. This is a family friendly event, all are welcome.

Report Illicit Discharge

Stormwater runoff isn’t just rain—it carries pollutants like litter, oil, and fertilizers into our waterways. On a barrier island, this can quickly affect our beaches, lagoon, and wildlife. Let’s work together to reduce pollution by keeping storm drains clear and using less harmful products.

Let's Protect Our Lagoon. Report Illicit Discharge.
