Emergency Operations Center:

The City of Cocoa Beach has officially activated our EOC. The City of Cocoa Beach administrative offices are closed today and Thursday.

Public Safety crews are staged and are working throughout the storm.

*****IMPORTANT TO NOTE*****

When winds become a sustained 55 mph, public safety crews will be unable to respond to calls. They will respond when deemed safe and in order of priority.

Conserve Water:

High water tables are affecting our Wastewater Plant. This is the time to conserve water and you can do that by NOT doing laundry or dishes.

Our Wastewater Plant is near capacity.

Waste Management:

Due to Hurricane Milton's approach and at the direction of Brevard County, WM will suspend all collection services on Wednesday, October 9, and Thursday, October 10. Please place your trash and recycling carts securely away from open spaces.

Sandbags:

Sandbag locations for the City of Cocoa Beach are closed as there is no sand available. An alternative is topsoil and/or mulch bags. Ace Hardware will remain open until 12 pm.

Downtown Parking Garage:

The Downtown Parking Garage is closed to the public until further notice. Cars that park in the garage could be subject to being towed from the facility.

Flooding:

This storm will cause flooding. With the saturation the city has already experienced, the added rain has nowhere to go. River levels are high and will rise with this storm, and well after the storm.

Weekend Events:

All weekend events have been canceled.

EFSC Closed for the remainder of the week
Airports
- Melbourne International (MLB) will close on 10.09.24 at 2:00 pm
- Orlando International (MCO) will close early on 10.09.24
- Orlando Executive Airport will close early on10.09.24
The port will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday
Brevard County offices will close on Wednesday and Thursday

The Landfill will close at Noon today, and all day Thursday
