July 4th Holiday

The City of Cocoa Beach wishes everyone a safe and Happy July 4th Holiday! 

The City Hall/ Public Works Administrative Facilities will be closed Tuesday, July 4th, 2023. Our offices will reopen on Wednesday, July 5th, 2023. 

The Cocoa Beach Golf course will be open on July 4th. The last Tee time will be 2 pm. The pro shop will close at 5 pm. 

Stop by the 19th Hole on the 4th from 9 am - 2 pm to catch a snack before the night festivities. 

Business Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.

July 3rd Fireworks at Fischer Park

City of Cocoa Beach will be celebrating with Fireworks this year!

Fischer Park will be closed on July 3rd, 2023 for the safety of our residents and visitors. 

Events Dates:

July 3rd, 2023 - Cocoa Beach - Fischer Park

July 4th, 2023 - Cocoa - Riverfront Park

As a reminder, personnel fireworks are prohibited on ocean public beach per Sec 15-37 of City Code of Ordinances. Illegal possession of fireworks constitutes a Class III Violation.

And as always when celebrating the July 4th season please be kind to your neighbors and their pets.

Holiday Waste Management

This a reminder that there will be no solid waste, recycling, or yard waste collection on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, as the Brevard County landfills and facilities are closed in observance of the Independence Day holiday.  

Tuesday residential garbage customers will be serviced on Friday, July 7, 2023. 

Tuesday residential recycle and yard waste customers will be serviced on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.     

Residents are encouraged to visit www.wmfloridaholiday.com for information related to holiday schedules in our area.

Maritime Park Closure

Due to a swarm of angry bees in the park, the City has closed the park for safety precautions. The City is working with crews to move the bees to another location.  The park will reopen as soon as possible.

Rip Current Warning

Rip currents can swiftly pull even the strongest swimmers away from the shore, making it difficult to swim back. It is crucial to prioritize personal safety and take necessary precautions when swimming in the ocean. Always heed the advice and warnings of lifeguards and other beach authorities, as they have the expertise to assess and communicate the current water conditions.

The first weekend in July, there were 76 rescues in Cocoa Beach.

Hurricane Season

Hurricane season is ramping up - time to prepare! 

Florida residents know the drill: stock up on supplies, secure your home, and make an evacuation plan. With an early start to the Atlantic season this year, it's especially important to stay vigilant.  

Make sure to clean up your yards and get any loose debris out to the curb ON trash day. Don't wait until it's too late! 

With heavy Atlantic storms, rip currents are a real danger. Remember to swim near a lifeguard tower and keep an eye out for flags.
